What is this?

A circle that brings people together

A mandala, in its circular shape, represents wholeness, unity and harmony — the key elements of any team that works well together. The circle is a safe structure for exploring creativity, self-expression and connection.

Mandala painting workshops create a platform for deep communication and connection that most team activities can’t. Because when people make something together — something genuinely their own — they see each other differently.

No prior painting experience is required.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE ROOM?

The room is guaranteed to buzz

01. Grounding first

Every workshop begins with grounding exercises to clear the noise of the day and open the creative channel. By the time the painting begins, the room has already shifted.

02. Pure creative absorption

Using high quality acrylic paints and professional tools, each person either creates their own mandala masterpiece or the team work on creating one together. Watch the room go quiet in the best possible way with the occasional giggle for those working in teams.

03. Revelation and delight

People are consistently surprised by the colours and shapes they choose as part of the mandala creation, with many often surprised by their hidden abilities. Every person or team leaves with a unique masterpiece and a momento of the day.

Why this works for teams

Connection you can take back to the office

Team building activities work when they create genuine connection rather than performed participation. Mandala painting does this naturally as it requires presence, it rewards vulnerability, and it produces something personal that people are proud of.

Inclusive by design

Painting in a group caters to all personality types — those who dive in fully and those who prefer to observe and encourage. Nobody is left out or put on the spot.

Genuinely different styles emerge

Each person will have a unique approach and seeing those differences is itself a team insight. The friendly rivalry as teams observe each other’s work is one of the most energising moments of the day.

Creative energy that lingers

The buzz in the room during a mandala workshop is different from any other team activity. Something opens up with the ripple felt and remembered back in the workplace.

We come to you

Simone brings everything — paint, canvases, tools, and the space-holding expertise of someone who has been running these workshops for over eight years. She can come to you anywhere in Perth, or workshops can be held at a venue of your choice.

SIMONE’s ORIGIN STORY

Where it all began

This is also how the Leadership Mandala began. The same insight that cracked open in that Melbourne workshop became the framework that now sits at the heart of all of my coaching work.

On a very special trip to Melbourne in January 2018, my soul sister booked me into one of Karen Scott’s One Day Wonder Workshops at Mandala Magic. I hadn’t painted in a very long time and was incredibly nervous! By the end of the day, I was so proud of what I’d painted. I came home, enrolled in an acrylic painting course and I haven’t stopped painting Mandalas since.

Not only is a Mandala a sacred symbol, but creating one brings part of our unconscious mind to our consciousness, reflecting our current state. It offers a safe structure for those who are nervous about painting without experience. You can absorb yourself completely in the process of creating them, making an excellent mindfulness exercise. And they are beautiful pieces upon completion that tell a personal story.

I am so passionate about holding space for others to connect with their creativity and to find some calm in their lives. Seeing a group completely absorbed in the process of creating their masterpieces brings so much joy. I love watching the creative journey unfold and hearing many surprised by the colours and shapes they choose. The pride reflected on everyone’s faces as they take their mandalas away to be displayed in the home or office is very special.
